Sukarno and Hatta were secured out of town because the youths and PETA were afraid of the safety of the two leaders of the nation.
Out of fear that they would be killed by the Japanese Army or at least used as a hostage if riots arose, because PETA troops intend to launch a large demonstration.

So the main reason is safety.

karena rasa kekhawatiran bahwa mereka akan dibunuh oleh pihak Angkatan Darat Jepang atau paling sedikitnya dipergunakan sebagai sandera kalau kerusuhan timbul, karena tentara PETA bermaksud akan melancarkan suatu demonstrasi besar.

Jadi alasan utamanya adalah keselamatan.)
